We're looking for self-motivated problem solvers, who can help us craft and improve customer experiences on a global scale for Expedia brands, across a variety of platforms and tools, in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do:

  • Design user-centered experiences across multiple devices and platforms, from responsive web applications to iOS and Android mobile apps.
  • Interpret quantitative and qualitative behavioral data as well as competitive analysis for insights into provable and viable design solutions
  • Design the information organization, aesthetic look and feel, interaction design, and experience flows for elements of user experiences throughout the entire product lifecycle using sketches, storyboards, wireframes, comps and prototypes.
  • Choose the right tool for the right problem, fluidly moving through different stages of the process from sketching to low- and hi-fidelity prototypes
  • Mentor other designers and advocate for design standards
  • Believe universal design is beautiful design and design for people of all abilities
  • Believe feedback is a gift, actively seek it out, and give it thoughtfully in order to continually raise the quality of the experience
  • Think about design as a system, contributing to and maintaining our pattern library as a way to influence both quality and efficiency for all our teams and products


Who you are:

  • 5+ years of professional design experience
  • Degree in a relevant field (HCI, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, etc.)
  • Portfolio demonstrating experience use of typography, color, imagery, grid systems, and well crafted animation/transitions
  • Portfolio demonstrating sound product thinking through navigation, user flows, interaction design and information architecture
  • Application of web standards, native mobile design systems, progressive improvement, dynamic content retrieval, and responsive/adaptive design techniques
  • Knowledge of semantically sound and maintainable HTML5, CSS3 code and basic web scripting practices
  • Proficiency in Web, Android and iOS development tools and front-end frameworks
